Here is an overview of the bestWiccan books at this day.
We must however tell the overview is far from complete.
So if you discover a good Wiccan book, please inform us.
If you can't find a book, please post on our forum or visit a second hand shop.
Now let's have a look at our selection.

Werecomment all books by Janet and Stewart Farrar. Their writings are not really for beginners, but are a respected source of information about our religion. Following titles are recommended;

What Witches do, Eight Sabbats for Witches, The Witches' Way, The Witches Goddess, The Witches God.

We really recommend the books of Vivianne Crowley. One of her writings is seen in the Greencraft Wicca as a must-have, being "Witchcraft".

Of the hand of Starhawk (Reclaiming Tradition) many books got into life. Amongst them is "The Spiral Dance", her best known book. But all Starhawk's books are worth reading.

Often a welcome guest we wish to draw your attention towards a highly talented witch, Phyllis Curott. She visited Belgium and the Netherlands to indroduce her books, keeping in though with her readers.

Greencraft would not be Greencraft without Robert Graves. Here is "The White Goddess". Not a Wiccan book, but a scientific antropological work which has been important to the Greencraft Tradition and Wicca in general. Without "The White Goddess" Greencraft would not have existed. To conclude the list; The Irish Magical Tradition by Steve Blamires, Celtic Myths and Legends by T.W. Rolleston, Celtic Runes by Michael Ragan , Fire in the Head, Shamanism, and the Celtic Spirit by Tom Cowan and as last, The Celtic Tree Oracle, a system of Divination by Liz and Colin Murray.

From Penguin Classics come "The Mabinogion" and "Early Irish Myths and Sagas".

Cailin and John Matthews wrote "Talisien, Shamanism and the Bardic Mysteries in Britain and Ireland". "The Western Way, a practical Guide to the Western Mystery Tradition (vol. 1 and 2)" and "The Celtic Shaman".

Then Nokolai Tolstoy with his "The Quest for Merlin" and "The coming of the King".

rom R.J. Stewart we have "The prophetic Vision of Merlin", "The Mystic Life of Merlin" and "The Merlin Tarot".

Fantasy is really important in Wicca. Fantasy can produce great writings. So please do read "Harry Potter" of J.K.Rowling or the absolute masterpiece of J.R.R.Tolkien, "Lord of the Rings". No Wiccan books, but really good to awaken your fantasy. Do greetings to Albus Dumbledore, when you see him.

This is a limited list of good readings. We recommend beginning collectors of esoteric books to use the little grey cells when purchasing. If you buy 10 books, but 9 are rubbish, then you miss your goal of learning. Do not waste your money on rubbish. Ask advice. Visit our Forum.
